# Company Overview

> Where you land when you open a company: the price chart and Sterling's target, the bull and bear cases, trade ideas, and news, valuation and unusual trades.

## What the Company Overview shows you

* **Company header** — name, ticker, today's price change, and Sterling's price target with the upside or downside to it.
* **Price chart** — the stock over any range. Drag across a stretch to have Sterling explain the move.
* **Bullish and bearish arguments** — the strongest arguments on each side of the stock, each openable in the Analyst, with Sterling's **Trade Ideas** for the company beside them.
* **Company info panel** — news, valuation, factor exposure and unusual trades on four tabs.

## Where to find it

Search for the company in **Search companies** at the top of the page, or select its ticker badge wherever one appears. A company always opens here. Once you're on it, **Overview** is highlighted under the company's name in the left-hand navigation.

## Using the Company Overview

### Company header

The header shows the name, ticker, today's price change, Sterling's price target and the upside or downside to it. When an earnings call is today or tomorrow, a badge shows its time. While the call is live, the badge opens it.

### Read the price chart

* Pick a range: **1D**, **5D**, **1M**, **6M**, **1Y**, **YTD**, **2Y**, **3Y** or **MAX**.
* Switch between **Line Chart** and **Candlestick Chart**.
* **Indicators** overlays moving averages. **Multiples** overlays trailing or forward valuation multiples.
* **Fullscreen** gives you a bigger chart. In the fullscreen line view, **Compare** plots other companies on the same chart.

The chart updates live on any range that ends today.

### Explain a move

1. Drag across the stretch of the chart you're curious about.
2. Select **Open Explainer** in the tooltip.
3. Sterling splits the move into **Market**, **Themes** and **Company-Specific** contributions. Select **View factor details**, or a follow-up prompt, to take the question into [the Analyst](/analyst/what-is-the-analyst).

### Bullish and bearish arguments

Beneath the chart, the arguments sit in two columns, **Bullish** and **Bearish**. Select an argument's **Read in analyst** to take it into the Analyst, or use **Older** and **Newer** to page through. The company's **Trade Ideas** sit beside them. See [What are Trade Ideas?](/trade-ideas/what-are-trade-ideas).

### Company info panel

The panel on the right gives the context around the price in four tabs: the news on the company, how it's valued, what drives its risk, and unusual trading in the stock.

| Tab | What it shows | What you can do |
| - | - | - |
| **Latest News** | A news feed for this company | Narrow it with the **Search** box and the **Sources** filters. Older items load as you scroll |
| **Overview** | **Market Cap**, **Enterprise Value**, then **P/E Ratio**, **TEV/Revenue** and **TEV/EBITDA** across trailing and forward periods, moving with the live price | Select a card to expand it into that multiple's recent history |
| **Exposure** | How much of the stock's recent risk comes from market, style, thematic and company-specific factors | Select a factor for its history over time |
| **Unusual Trades** | Notable activity in **Equity**, **Options** and **Congressional** views | Sort by any column |

## Frequently asked questions
