# Finding research reports

> Browse Sterling's newest and highest-conviction research in themed rows, or filter the library to the companies, sectors and themes you follow.

## What you can do in the Research Library

* **Featured report** — the newest report in the library, with its share price, target and upside.
* **Themed rows** — what's new, where the upside or downside is largest, and one row per investment theme.
* **Filters** — search by company, or narrow the library by sector, theme and Sterling's outlook.
* **Audio** — reports with a narrated version have a play button on the card.

## Where to find it

Select **Research Library** in the left-hand navigation.

## Using the Research Library

### Featured report

The card at the top is the newest report: company, title, publication date, the current **Share Price**, Sterling's **Price Target** and the **Upside** or **Downside** between them. Select **Open report** to read it.

### Browse the themed rows

Each row holds up to twelve reports, and a report appears in at most one row. Scroll a row sideways to see more. Select a card to open the full report on the company's research page.

| Row | What's in it |
| - | - |
| **Fresh Drops** | The latest reports to land in the library |
| **Big Upside** | Reports with more than 25% upside to the price target |
| **Abandon Ship** | Reports with more than 25% downside |
| **Stable Outlook** | Reports trading within 25% of the target either way |
| Theme rows | Reports where that theme is a core exposure |

### Listen to a report

Select **Play audio** on a card. The player follows you around the app. **Pause audio** and **Resume audio** appear once it's playing.

### Search for a company

1. Select **Filters** to open the filter panel.
2. Type at least three characters in **Search company or ticker**. The rows give way to a results grid.
3. Select a card to open the report. Clear the box to return to the rows.

### Filter by sector, theme or outlook

1. With the filter panel open, pick one or more **Sectors**.
2. Under **Themes**, choose from the tags. Expand the list if it's long.
3. Under **Sterling Labs forecast**, choose **Big upside**, **Stable outlook** or **Abandon ship**.
4. The results grid updates with every change. **Clear all** removes the filters, and **Filters** hides the panel to give the results the full width.

## Tips

* Combine **Abandon Ship** with a sector to find where Sterling is most negative in an area you own.
* A card's date is the publication date and its target is as of that report. For the latest view on a company, open its research page.

## If something goes wrong

| What you see | What it means | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| "No reports found" | Nothing in the library matches the search or filters | Remove the forecast filter first, then themes. A sector with no cards has nothing highlighted in the library right now; its companies may still be covered |
| The filter panel is gone | It's hidden | Select **Filters**. On smaller screens it slides in from the side |

## Frequently asked questions

### Is every company Sterling covers in the library?

Not always. The library shows the reports Sterling has chosen to highlight, the latest on each company. A company you don't see here may still be covered. Search for it in **Search companies** at the top of the page, then select **Research** under its name in the left-hand navigation.

### How do I get to the full report from here?

Select the card. It opens under the company's **Research** pages. See [Reading Sterling's research on a company](/companies/reading-a-research-report).

### Can I share a filtered view?

Yes. The filters are kept in the page address, so a bookmarked or shared link opens on the same results.
