What the Analyst can do

  • Answer from Sterling’s research. It draws on Sterling’s reports and live market data, with sources you can check.
  • Pick up context from wherever you are. Select Read in analyst on a trade idea, a bullish or bearish argument or an earnings note, or select a passage in a research report and choose Explain or Custom Question, and the conversation starts with that item loaded. It also knows which page you’re on.
  • Read your documents. Attach a PDF, spreadsheet, slide deck or image and ask about it. See Asking questions and attaching documents.
  • Go deep when it matters. Quick answers by default, and Deep Research for a thorough, multi-step investigation when the question deserves it.
  • Explain the product itself. With Guide on, ask how any feature works and it answers in plain terms, or walks you through it on screen. See Guide Mode and “Show me”.

Where to find it

  • Select the collapsed Analyst bar on the right edge of the page, or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows). Esc closes it. The Analyst isn’t available on the Trading Pit.
  • The panel opens over the page. Drag its left edge to make it wider. Fullscreen makes it the main workspace, and Exit fullscreen or Close Analyst goes back.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Analyst give investment advice?

Sterling Labs is an SEC-registered investment adviser. The Analyst’s answers are research and decision support, grounded in data and Sterling’s published views, rather than personal recommendations. Decisions are yours, and the Analyst can help you pressure-test them.

Is there a limit on how much I can ask?

Analyst chat is free during your seven-day trial. After that, usage draws on your $30 monthly allowance, then on credits you’ve bought. See Your plan, usage and invoices. Accounts are limited to 100 messages an hour.

The Analyst isn’t responding.

If a reply fails, a banner in the panel says so. Select Retry to send it again. If the banner says you’re out of balance, select Buy credits.
