What you can do in Broker Support
- Ask anything. Type in the message box and answers arrive as cards you can act on.
- Connect a brokerage. Ask which brokerages you can connect and it shows a card for each, with a Connect button.
- Show your connections. Ask what you have connected and it lists your brokerages and how each connection is doing.
- Open your agreements. Ask for your agreements and it shows your advisory agreement, the Terms of Use and the privacy policy.
- Ask about security and your data. Whether connecting is secure, and how your data is used.
Where to find it
Once your portfolio is set up — your first brokerage connected and the one-time investor profile completed — a bar labeled Broker Support sits at the bottom right of the Portfolio page. Select it to open the chat panel; select it again to close it. Drag the bar to move it out of the way. The panel opens with the greeting “I can help you connect a brokerage or answer questions about your portfolio, connections, and account security” and starter questions you can select:- Which brokerages can I connect?
- Is it secure to connect my account?
- How is my data used?
- How does connecting work?
Using Broker Support
Ask a question
Type in the Ask anything box and select the send arrow. While it replies, the send button turns into a stop button you can select to cut the answer short. Answers often arrive as cards you can act on: a brokerage card with its Connect button, your current connections, the security points, or your agreements.Connect a brokerage
Ask which brokerages you can connect and it shows a card for each, with a Connect button. If that brokerage is already connected in Sterling, the button reads Add account instead. Every connection starts with your own click. The panel never connects or disconnects an account by itself — it shows you the button, and you sign in at your broker to approve access. Connecting works the same way as it does from the page header; see Connecting a brokerage.Show your connections
Ask what you have connected and it lists your brokerages, each with its status — Active, Needs attention or Disconnected — and a Disconnect button. Disconnecting asks you to confirm, then deletes that connection’s data from Sterling: its positions and holdings, its trade log and balance history, and the portfolio figures and charts built from them. This can’t be undone; you can connect the same brokerage again later.Open your agreements
Ask to see your agreements and the panel shows a card listing them:- Advisory Agreement — review or sign your advisory agreement. When a signature is due, the row carries a Signature needed badge, and selecting it opens the Agreements section of your account window, ready to sign. Every agreement you’ve accepted is listed there; see Managing your account details.
- Terms of Use and Privacy Policy — open the legal pages themselves.
Ask about security and your data
The panel’s security answers, in brief:- You authorize access on your broker’s own site, and Sterling never receives or stores your brokerage username or password.
- Connections are read-only: Sterling can see your holdings and activity, but it can’t move money or place trades.
- Your data is never used to trade, never sold as order flow, and never used to train models.
- You can disconnect a brokerage whenever you like.
