What the KPIs page shows you

  • Operational and Financial — two tabs: business-activity measures, and accounting measures.
  • Search — from a long list to a single chart in seconds.
  • KPI cards — each metric with its history by year or quarter, and a Market mover mark on the ones Sterling flags as most important for the stock.

Where to find it

  1. Open the company and select Research under its name in the left-hand navigation.
  2. In the research tabs, select KPIs.

Using the KPIs page

Pick the kind of metric

Select Operational for business-activity measures, such as volumes, users or units, or Financial for accounting measures, such as revenue lines, margins or cash flow. A tab is grayed out when the company has no KPIs of that kind.

Find a specific KPI

Select the search icon at the top right and type the metric’s name. The grid narrows as you type. If nothing matches on the current tab, try the other one.

Read a KPI card

Each card names the metric and describes it in a line. The buttons on the card switch between a line chart, a bar chart and a table, which gives the exact value for each period. Where a KPI has both, Y and Q switch between yearly and quarterly figures.

Tips

  • Start on the Market mover cards. They’re the metrics Sterling flags as most important for the stock.
  • Pair the KPIs with the Earnings tab. The Sankey there shows the financial result, and the KPIs show what produced it.

Frequently asked questions

There are no KPIs for this company.

Sterling hasn’t built a KPI set for that company yet. The page says “No KPIs found for this ticker.” rather than showing an empty grid.

Can I ask about a KPI?

Yes. Open the Analyst from the bar on the right edge of the page and ask. On a company page, the Analyst already knows which company you’re looking at.
